Jim Dalton, concert-goer at Ji Liu’s Lamberhurst concert 2016

SOLD OUT

We were very fortunate during 2016 to have some fantastic concerts with outstanding performances, and one of the best of these was Ji Liu’s in April. Everybody that attended the concert was amazed by the technical brilliance of Ji, and his extensive programme. The feedback from the sold-out audience was so good that I immediately booked him for 2017.

Ji was born in Shanghai in 1990 and started playing the piano at the age of 3. He studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music before moving to Madrid to the Escuela Musica Reina Sofia. He completed his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2013 where he graduated with distinction.

Ji has appeared as soloist with the Philharmonia and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in the UK and China. He has performed at the Wigmore Hall London, the Bristol Proms, and the International Piano Series in Nottingham. He has also appeared at the Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Festival Hall, and in Seoul and Monaco.

Classic FM frequently play tracks from Ji’s 3 chart topping CDs. Ji’s first CD ‘Piano Reflections’ was released in 2014 and went straight to the top of the Classical charts. He second CD ‘Piano Encores’ opened in the number 2 position, and his third CD ‘Pure Chopin’ released in January 2016 also topped the classical charts.

I’m really pleased to welcome Ji back, and have no doubt that we will again be praising his unique talent. As mentioned, last year’s concert sold out, and I expect this will be the case again. I urge you to book early to avoid disappointment.

Ji’s programme for the concert is:
