Description
Alasdair is renowned as a serious musician and intrepid programmer who champions a wide range of music, both solo and chamber, from traditional to contemporary. He went to the Royal College of Music as a Foundation Scholar and continued his studies at Indiana University. Along the way he has won a clutch of prestigious prizes and performed with some of the world’s top musicians and ensembles. His tutor at the RCM considered his playing inspirational “I have never heard him give a performance which was not memorable and arresting”.
The programme has a nice range of pieces, starting with Beethoven’s Sonata in E minor before moving on to Schumann’s Arabesque. Then two pieces by Debussy before the second half includes Beethoven’s Appassionata Sonata.
